New Director Joins Lodestone

Purpose-led strategy and communications agency Lodestone has appointed Leon Flexman as a Director following 35% growth in 2021 and a series of new client wins and organic growth.

Leon will head up the corporate affairs division and lead on clean energy, infrastructure, sustainability and ESG. Leon is a corporate affairs and communications professional with over 25 years’ experience in strategy, stakeholder relations, communications, and corporate sustainability. Most recently he has worked on fusion power and renewables projects and prior to that was a director of Horizon Nuclear Power where he led the corporate affairs activities in support of the mission to deliver new nuclear power stations in Wales and England. Before joining Horizon, he worked for RWE npower, a UK Utility with a major power generation portfolio including on and offshore wind, and energy trading and supply businesses. In his early career Leon spent 7 years in international public relations consultancy H&K Strategies.

Growth in the agency during 2021 was driven by client wins across sector specialisms clean energy, tech, education and health – following the establishment of a health unit. New wins from competitive pitches in 2022 include the Midlands Engine.

Lodestone’s campaign for the Bourbon Alliance to #FreeTheSpirit and #CutTheTariff was recently featured in PR Week’s Behind the Campaign feature after the USA and UK agreed to scrap tariffs on American Whiskey, and Lodestone ranked 20th in PR Week’s Top 150 UK Public Affairs companies for 2021.
