Data Poverty APPG

Lodestone provides secretariat duties for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Data Poverty, supporting its mission to raise awareness of and tackle data poverty in the UK.

In their role as the Group’s secretariat, Lodestone brings immense parliamentary and media expertise, competent events management, and a deep understanding of the issue of data poverty.

This has allowed the Group to engage with key parliamentarians, gain national media coverage, run regular and well-attended events in Westminster, and launch the group’s first State of the Nation Report – providing a set of initial recommendations to tackle data poverty in the UK.

As a result, the Group has been able to connect parliamentary stakeholders including Shadow Minister for Media, Data and Digital Infrastructure, Stephanie Peacock MP, Chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee, Stephen Timms MP, and Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Work and Pensions, Wendy Chamberlain MP, and Science and Technology Committee Member Aaron Bell MP, with industry voices such as BT, Vodafone, Virgin O2, TalkTalk and Ofcom, and third sector organisations such as leading digital inclusion charity the Good Things Foundation, and the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
