Spurgeon’s College
We successfully supported Spurgeon’s College in challenging their rejected application for registration from the Office for Students (OfS) through an integrated legal, public affairs and comms strategy. We raised the profile of the College and the issue amongst policymakers and targeted Christian and mainstream media. We engaged with key political stakeholders such as then Universities Ministers, Chris Skidmore and Jo Johnson, as well as parliamentarians in both houses. We created cross-party Parliamentary support for the College – with members proactively advocating for our campaign. The strategy activated wide reaching support from the Christian community, garnering press and radio coverage in key media outlets. Spurgeon’s College application was successful. We now support Spurgeon’s on profile raising across PR, social media and public affairs, including securing briefing calls with then Shadow Education Secretary, Kate Green MP.
“I would readily recommend Lodestone, as not only did they take the time to understand our College and our values, they also were excellent at translating that into effective communications, whilst still enabling us to tell our story, in our voice. Working with Lodestone has enabled us to run an incredibly successful campaign gaining cross-party support for our College across Westminster in the House of Commons and Lords. Nothing is ever too much trouble - they act fast, with wise, creative and strategic advice. I really value the contribution they make.” Rev Helen Stokley, Chief Operating Officer for Spurgeon’s College
