Young’s Seafood Limited – securing Government funding for factory site
Lodestone supported the UK’s largest fish and seafood brand to secure funding of £1m from the Government through an integrated PR and public affairs campaign. At a time when the Grimsby based company needed to secure more Government funding for skills training, Lodestone worked with Young’s Seafood to increase its profile in the media, through digital comms and engagement with local, regional and national politicians to make the case for more support. This was achieved by helping to refine Young’s Seafood’s ‘policy ask’ for more Government funding to support food processing skills in the region.
We facilitated a programme of engagement with constituency MPs, local councils, regional stakeholders, the Opposition, Government, Defra and No. 10 advocating the need for skills funding to protect the largest private sector employer in the area. This was supported by responses to policy consultations, media coverage in national newspapers, local media and social media posts. Working closely with the in-house team we supported Young’s Seafood on media relations, thought leadership, policy engagement, public affairs, stakeholder relations and reputation management. By increasing the profile of the company, we also helped Young’s Seafood to increase sales, increase its visibility with national, local and regional stakeholders, and we supported the company to be shortlisted for the European Business Award for the Environment, in recognition of its new purpose and CSR programme, with positive thought leadership coverage in the Guardian and in global media.
