#BCorpMonth: Can we find healthy, sustainable snacks for our office? #YesVegan

March 24th 2023

The B Corp certification aims to ensure that we can enjoy products knowing that the companies are meeting higher standards. This is important for everyone. However, for many vegans, this is an essential aid to navigating our way through sustainable foods.

To help you stock up on healthier, sustainable snacks, we’ve reviewed five of the top B Corp-certified options. Whether you are looking for something to help you on a health kick, or something to indulge in during that afternoon slump, we have you covered.

Proper Sweet Sriracha Chilli Lentil Chips

Proper were first known for their popcorn. However, they have since released a range of lentil chips. The flavour that seemed to generate the most heat in the vegan community seems to have been Sweet Chilli Sriracha, and it isn’t hard to see why.

Proper take pride in their flavours, making sure to give their chips natural seasoning. The tangy garlic notes of the Sriracha flavouring are married with the heat of Cayenne pepper giving the chip a real spicy punch. Add in the sweet paprika seasoning and a zesty aftertaste, and you’ve got a characterful chip that is wonderfully balanced.

An additional serving suggestion is to enjoy the chip with some vegan sour cream and chopped spring onion. The sweet and sour flavour profiles complement each other well. The sweetness of the spring onions is an excellent final touch to a tasty snack.

Graze Smoky Barbecue Crunch Snack Pack

Graze specialises in healthy sweet and savoury snacks that often cater to vegan customers. At only 118 calories, these crunchy pea and corn snacks won’t weigh you down while filling you up.

The snack pack contains three types of treats: smoky barbecue peas, crunchy corn chips and chilli corn. The peas are the most flavoursome, emanating an enjoyably smoky aroma. The crunchy corn chips and chilli corn could both be accused of slight overseasoning.

The packs might appeal to anyone feeling peckish after a trip to the gym and watching their calorie intake, but they are not as tantalising for the tastebuds as some of the other options available.

Kallø Lentil and Pea Veggie Cakes - Beetroot and Balsamic Flavour

Kallø are well known for their classic rice cake selection. These vegan options are made with lentil flour, green peas and beetroot balsamic seasoning. The result is a delicious crisp and savoury treat.

The dominating taste remains the balsamic vinegar, a favourite with any aficionado of Italian food. The sweet, earthy flavour of the beetroot cuts across the vinegar’s sharpness to make this thoroughly enjoyable.

It’s easy to imagine how this could be combined with a variety of spreads and dips for a more substantial meal. There are plenty of ways this veggie cake can be used to keep your lunches fun and innovative.

Kallø Dark Chocolate Vegan Rice Cakes

Kallø’s brand of Belgian Dark Chocolate rice cakes are perhaps the best in show for balanced sweet treats. There’s enough chocolate to satisfy your craving but enough rice cake to make the treat feel healthy and refreshing. These snacks are so moreish that perhaps their only downfall is that the pack will be gone in seconds!

If you are looking for a quick, healthy and delicious snack, whether this be in your lunchbox, after dinner or when you are feeling a bit peckish, then look no further than these dark chocolate rice cakes.

Marmite Cashews

As the famous saying goes, “Marmite. You either love it or hate it.” But in this case, these cashews are pretty hard not to love. Combining cashews, a treat known for their delicious combination with salt, with perhaps the saltiest spread imaginable can only lead to success. Additionally, as vegans well know, Marmite is an excellent source of B vitamins. Merge this with the protein from the cashews and you are onto a hit.
