Lodestone Local - University of London & UPP

Lodestone led strategic communications, political liaison and community engagement for this complex project. The £140 million project, the largest student accommodation in London, involved a long consultation process and a vocal set of community stakeholders. We created a clear narrative around affordability, student experience and community benefit. The scheme gained unanimous planning approval at committee. UPP and the University of London created a bespoke 50-year partnership to redevelop the outdated University of London student accommodation provided at the Cartwright Gardens site. The landmark deal was established to ensure the continued provision of high quality, affordable accommodation in the capital, designed with the student experience at its heart. We launched the halls with HRH Princess Anne as our guest of honour.
