REF Impact for Policy Commission Through Targeted Public Affairs
Lodestone was asked to help extend the reach and depth of the University of Birmingham’s stakeholder engagement both locally and nationally, furthering the impact of their research and supporting significant REF achievements. Lodestone has supported the University of Birmingham on a number of different projects that have helped the University of Birmingham further their strategic aims. Most recently Lodestone have supported the university through bespoke REF activity for their policy commissions on Critical Materials, National Heat Infrastructure and Resource Recovery – curating individual events and parliamentary engagement to further the reach of a series of reports and policy recommendations.
Working closely with the in-house team, Lodestone have led a stakeholder mapping exercise, advised on public affairs priorities and facilitated workshops, interviews and events with senior members of the University team. Lodestone have helped the University achieve significant additional REF impact on research topics such as energy infrastructure, defence, and tech.
