University of Hull
Lodestone’s worked with the University of Hull advising on thought leadership, media engagement, communications strategy and corporate training. As part of this work, Lodestone have advised the Vice Chancellor on thought leadership, amplifying the University’s vision of a fairer, brighter, carbon neutral future. We have helped to secure media coverage, opinion pieces and blogs, highlighting her thought leadership on these issues on BBC News, in the Times Higher Education, WonkHE, the HEPI blog and local media, alongside speaking at events on Facebook Live and at conferences on green energy.
We supported on commissioning relevant polling research on changing “fast fashion” trends and sustainable clothing practices, which secured national coverage in the Daily Mail and the Independent. As part of our work, we provided refresher media training and social media training as well as advising the Vice Chancellor on reputational issues around COVID-19, planning projects, transformation and change programmes in relation to both communications and engaging with political stakeholders.
Through our support on internal and external communications and stakeholder relations the University has climbed up the league tables, including placing 53rd in The Guardian University Rankings, an improvement of 53 places, and it also placed in The Sunday Times Good University Guide in the top 20 for social inclusion and fifth in the country for admissions from low participation areas. As part of our work to support the University, we advise on engaging with those driving policy with relevance to opportunities and threats for higher education, including influencers at HEPI and other think tanks, Ministers and SpAds at DfE, stakeholders at the Cabinet Office and those within BEIS who have an interest in green energy – an industry with which the university closely partners.
