Lodestone worked with EnergySolutions for over five years providing public affairs and strategic communications for their nuclear decommissioning operations in the UK. This work involved advising EnergySolutions on strategy while they sought damages over the bungled £6.1bn contract awarded by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) to manage twelve Magnox nuclear reactor sites in 2017. EnergySolutions received payment damages of £100m to recover the costs incurred and lost profits from the Government, that was underpinned by a sustained lobbying effort. In a statement in the House of Commons, the then Business Secretary Greg Clark said that the NDA was found to have been in breach of their own procurement process.
